Hey there mate! Time for the interviews to flow here on this so called “webzineâ€. Hehe, so what do you think of 2006? Have it gone as it was planned? I mean you have been in London and now you have been on the Swedish radio. Tell me, any feelings?
Hi Ade, great to hear from you! The year 2006… it has s been great so far. The band has experienced some really cool stuff lately. The trip to London was a blast, and some radio interviews are always fun to do. But there’s more to come and what I really enjoy right now is that the band feels stronger than ever. Ever since we brought in our new drummer, Matt Cheroe, we are all alike in the band. It’s like all our different personalities finally starts to fit together. We are starting to find our own sound and way to play hard rock. Everyone is also caring about the best for the band…sweet ey. You know, everyone is allowed to be as wasted as they want, any time a day and any day a week cause we can trust each other that the guy will be there tomorrow delivering what the others crave.
And how does the summer look like? Anything big going on in the heads and schedules of Pinklips?
The summer is really full of stuff to do. The first thing to do is music. As apart of our way to be free and do whatever we like, whenever we like, me and Matt brought in some studio equipment into our rehearsal place. This way the band can record in every possible mood of ours. The new studio kicks ass, and I’m really fucked up wondering why I didn’t start to record and mix in an earlier state in my life. Guess it’s not too late to be a monster producer..!
So recording new stuff and bring ‘em online for you to enjoy is what we’ll do first. In the meantime we will do some great gigs and media appearances. You’ll find out about this on our site when time has come…
What about this music, rock music. Who or what made you a rocker?
The awesome feeling about playing music is what made me a rocker. It’s definitely what makes me feel alive. Some people need their vacations, new cats and cars. I just need to play with my three guys to get the rush. I had a blast last Friday….in our rehearsal studio!
When I’m not playing I constantly listen to music, walking around with my iPod, making me the main character in my own rock video. Guess that reflects upon my surroundings.
What was the first concert you saw?
It must have been Status Quo in Halmstad, Sweden, sometime in the early 90’s. They rocked and still do!
Me and my pal visited Metaltown last year, and as we remembered you kinda like invited us to visit you. What were your feeling having 2 fans visiting you?
You are just the two friends of mine and it’s always nice to have friends coming over. Hope you had a good time. Pinklips better get over to your town for a gig so we can see each other again!
Rate these singer and frontmen, 1-10. 1 being worthless and 10 being overwhelming, don’t forget to comment them to:
I think these guys are all great singers in their own type of music that they are doing. I’ll comment them on how much they mean to me instead.
Sebastian Bach: 5, I never found interested in the style of SkidRow. I’m not into sleaze that much. I want a well thought-out appearance with great looks, music and class!
Brett Dance: 9 …He’s a great guy who has given me great experiences and learnt me a lot about rock, music and life. We got something special together. He still got a 1p to go because I know that Brett and Pinklips have more to give and of course, no one is perfect.
Wednesday 13: 8, this guy is great. He has the ability to deliver something unique. That’s why I listen a lot to his music because it brings me into a mood I can’t find somewhere else. He also knows how to pull of the look and show with class.
Vince Neil: 7, he is a legend! A higher score is left out because he doesn’t connect with me that much in personality though.
Paul Stanley: 9,5, an almost perfect rockstar, top of the line song writing, performance, image and voice. It’s Paul Stanley of KISS!!!
Joey Tempest: 9, the best to come out of Sweden when it’s about to rock. I loved his music and voice since the first time. No matter if it’s the early Europe, the Prisoners in Paradise Europe, the Start from the Dark Europe or his solo albums. Every thing he has done is so, so good!
Axl Rose: 5…this guy feels the same to me as Mr. Bach. They pulled of some cool songs but I don’t listen to them because I got better stuff lying around.
Eurovision Song Contest is soon here, and for this year we have another rock band, (last year: WigWam) Lordi. What do you think of that band? The costume and that they participate in the whole contest:
Lordi rocks! With influences the same as ours, Twisted, Cooper, Kiss and W.A.S.P. it can’t go wrong. The participation in ESC and the costume thing is a great way to get attention but behind the masks are some really good songwriters. “Who’s your Daddy, *bitch*, who’s your daddyâ€! Great song, and there’s many more….and another thing, as I’m now also into the record/produce thing, their latest records has a really wicked sound. FAT GUITARS!
Time for some promotion from your side. Any gigs that you would like to highlight, new releases, anything you would like to say?
We got a great gig coming up on the 24th of May together with “The Solid Gold of EA†on HardRock Café in Gothenburg. Nice to open for some reeeeeeeally experienced rockers. For further news and new recordings, keep an eye on our site www.pinklips.se!
And for the last question. Is there anything you would like to shout out to the people reading this?
Keep listen to and support hard rock, that’s what makes us all Wild and fuckin Pretty! Credits to the guys behind Rock Hospital because they do exactly that!
Thanks for your time and I hope to see more of Pinklips in the future!
