
He was born in Dallas, Texas as Marvin Lee Aday and in 1967 he fronted the band Popcorn Blizzard. After various gigs with musicals such as “Hair”, “Rainbow”, “Hamlet” and Jim Steinman’s “More Than You Deserve”, his musical carrere started to take shape. It was together with Jim Steinman he created rock history with the grand rock album “Bat Out Of Hell”, an album that to date has sold an amazing 37 million copies.
His next grand slam would be the hit single “Deadringer For Love”, the energetic rock duet with Cher. After this there followed hits like “I’ll Do Anything For You (But I Won’t Do That) from the extremely successful comeback album “Bat Out Of Hell II - Back Into Hell” and “I’d Lie For You (And That’s The Truth)”.from the 1996 album “Welcome To The Neighborhood”. In November 2006 Meat Loaf’s new grand epos, “Bat Out Of Hell III - The Monster Is Loose” was released, shooting away an impressing 80 000 copies in the US the first week after its release.
