I saw Mastino live and was blown away

Okey so here it is, when I first say Mastino I thought: “Okey, so I have to go, it is my brothers band, and family bla bla bla”. Well after the first gig I was blown away, and I haven’t attend a Mastino gig as a family member, but as a fan. A fan of a future world-wide known band called Mastino.

Mastino is a Linköping (city in Sweden) based thrash metal band who plays something fresh and hardcore. With a lightning speed drummer (Jesper), lead guitarist from hell (Petter) and a growler from the darkest woods of Sweden (Patrick) this band delivers a great amount of metal. But without there 2 other band members they aren’t a complete band. The rhythm guitarist (André) brings a steady base of riffage along with the bass pounder (Jonathan).

I must say that every one in this band have been working hard at the rehearsals and it shows on stage, they are getting better for every gig I attend.

On the negative side: I don’t like the scenes they are playing on, to small with poor lights, but always with great sound. If they take that sound to a bigger stage it will all feel more professional. But thats something that every band has to go through, struggle for the attention and for the bigger venues to notice them.

They also added two new songs that I haven’t heard before, “9th Carnage” and “Blood-drunk”. I hate that I must concentrate on the listening part and the taking photos part, thats why I cant give you a more detailed review.

One that really stands out from the band is Jeppe, one hell of a drummer. The way that he slams those drums is amazing and feels unique. Patrick have also developed a greater voice, sounds better every time. He tend to scream with a higher voice at some parts that really fits the arrangement of the songs.
The 2 guitarists in the band complement each others well, Andre on the rhythm guitar and Petter on the lead and it feels like Petters solos is getting better composed as time goes by.
Jonathan on the bass is also developing a place in the band where I sense that he is getting more comfortable in. I’d like to see/hear more “bass solos” from him.

Overall this gig was like all the other gigs, but with a greater amount of professionalism. If they keep this up they will go to the top.
The only thing to look forward to is the demo, along with a review of it and perhaps an interview with the whole band.
