The band just posted a blog announcing they intend to finish the bands lengthy career by the end of this year. (I will post the message below my own)

Now, usually I’D just report this. But Hanoi Rocks are a band close to my heart. I would like to say Goodbye and send my good wishes to the guys in the band, members past and present. Hanoi Rocks are one of the best bands of the 1980s due to their unique style and brilliant songs, both musically and lyrically. Hanoi Rocks are a huge influence on me, aswell as a huge influence on many many bands to come out since the 1980s. They had good times, and very hard times and continued to struggle on and keep busy, perhaps with other projects for a while. Such as Fallen Angels, Cherry Bombs, Demolition 23, Jerusalem Slim aswell as various solo efforts. Hanoi Rocks never got huge fame, though they deserved it. The band are well respected and will never be forgotten. So this is good bye to you, Hanoi Rocks. //Dr. Lee a.k.a Mrlee.

Dr. Rock
The Hanoi Rocks story is kinda sad, getting bigger and bigger, BANG one member passed away, depression period (?), and than back again in the later years with new members. I have seen them ones at Metaltown 2005, and I remember holding Mikes hand while he was balancing right in front of the crowd. Awesome show indeed. But I might have for-seen this and I will accept their decision. They will be remembered as one of the most influential bands in the world, and especially for the rock music. Hail Hanoi Rocks!

HANOI ROCKS WILL BREAK UP BY THE END OF THE YEAR 2008

Hanoi Rocks have decided to break up by the end of the year 2008. Michael Monroe and Andy McCoy feel that they’ve taken the band as far as it can go and now wish to go their separate ways.

All commitments until the end of the year, including the UK tour starting in London on Halloween, will naturally be honoured.

In addition, the band has decided to say farewell to their fans by doing a final tour of Japan in the spring 2009 and immediately thereafter wrapping things up with a few nights at the legendary Tavastia Club in Helsinki, Finland where their career originally got started in the 80’s.

November 26th will see the timely release of the first ever career-spanning Hanoi Rocks retrospective: a 2-CD set titled “This One’s For Rock’n'Roll - The Best Of Hanoi Rocks 1980-2008″.

The band wishes to thank all their fans, co-workers and business partners for their continued love and support throughout the years.
