New look, new songs, new Sister!

Posted in Sister on November 30th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

Maybe it is just me, or does this new style look bad ass? Hmm, I am not sure yet. But it sure is something new from the Swedish hard rock demo band called Sister. The 2 new songs are a couple of steps forward for this band, as I’ve said before, they are getting better every time they release something new.

For you who haven’t heard Sister I highly recommend that you take a listen to their new tracks: “D.E.A.D” and “Top of the Line”, 2 songs that kicks mayor ass.

Okey I have to say, with their new songs this new style fits their heavier music style that they are aiming for, so highly recommended to check out!

New Xmas video from Twisted Sister featuring Lita Ford

Posted in Gossip, Videos on November 30th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

I found it on the SleazeRoxx.com forum, and I am 100% sure you can see Jim Gillette and his kids huging Lita Ford in the video. It’s a ballad by Twisted Sister and Lita Ford, and Lita is (I must add) still looking hot in those PVC suits :)

Airbourne Live At The Carling Academy Birmingham UK

Posted in Reviewz on November 30th, 2008 by Dr. Lee

As you all know. Airbourne are one of the hottest new bands to breakthrough into the mainstream around the world thanks to one rocking awesome album I reviewed earlier this year and non stop touring!

I’ve already seen the guys once in a sold out small show holding just 200 people. (read review HERE)

Now I’ve seen them again. Whats the difference this time?

Since then the band have sky rocketed in fame. Having singles all over TV and doing huge tours in the States with bands like Slipknot, Machinehead and Dragonforce to name a few.

Now the band are back in the UK. This time playing bigger venues to bigger crowds. Noticeable changes in the fanbase were quite shocking. Gone were the hoards of denim jacket and leather jacket wearing rockers. (where did you guys go, I was the only one?) Now metalheads and just “normal” people in general. Perhaps the hardcore rock fanbase think the band have sold out? I don’t know, I don’t think they have, I like that they are playing bigger shows.

First on was a band called… yes I actually can’t remember, they were that uninteresting. I think it was Fire and Fury. They were kinda like a punk band really from the States. Nothing interesting to say other than the rhythm guitarist had a lot of onstage energy which was fun to watch.

They were followed by a band called “Stone Gods”. Stone Gods are a British rock band formed by former Darkness members Dan Hawkins and Ritchie Edwards. You can tell they have touring experience with big shows. I’m not a huge fan of the music, but they put on a great live show and Ritchie Edwards was a great frontman tasked with warming the crowd up for Airbourne. I’d say check them out live if you can, they put on a good show.

Then came on Airbourne, thundering on the stage with familiar set opener Stand Up For Rock N’ Roll. The band played pretty much all of the “Runnin’ Wild” album and threw in a track off their old EP called “Dirty Little Angel”. The band never stopped moving, with a much better sound set up this time and a bigger stage. They totally conquered the crowd. The Crowd, was indeed “Runnin Wild” from the bands show. Airbourne prove once again they are one of the best live acts around at the moment. Even better now Joels voice had healed and he has clearly had some vocal coaching now to sing better. Even if you don’t like their music so much, I’d definitely recommend you go see Airbourne live if you want a big rock n’ roll show with a band that put all there energy into dominating the stage night after night. It surprises me that after 3 years of touring the band have not yet burnt out.

Awesome show. Awesome band.

Go see them!!!

Slash Goes Solo

Posted in Rock Hospital on November 30th, 2008 by Dr. Feelgood

Alongside the release of Axl’s “Chinese Democracy”, the departure of Scott Weiland from Supergroup Velvet Revolver, and the reincarnation of a significant number of our heavy-metal heroes in general. (Think about it -Led Leppelin, AC/DC, GNR… Perla Ferrar, Slash’s better-half, has even stated that their sons have been listening to Axl’s new album. Although alongside this some-what compliment, she went on what seems to be a justification of “Our kids like it. But they also like Elmo…” Lovely!)

Slash is now planning to release a solo album in the midst of 2009.
“I really want to do a solo record and play with a lot of different people that I’ve worked with before, maybe some people I haven’t worked with, and just do something really, really sort of interesting.” He said.
Ozzy Osbourne has just recently recorded alongside slash on this album. And even more strangely,so has Fergie out of The Black Eyed Peas……….. That IS “Really sort of interesting”…….

Bloodbound signs worldwide deal with Blistering Records

Posted in Newz on November 30th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

BLOODBOUND, the Swedish melodic, heavy metal band featuring members from STREET TALK, TAD MOROSE, MORGANA LEFAYand PYRAMAZE, have signed a worldwide deal with BLISTERING RECORDS.

The band’s third album “Tabula Rasa” will be released by BLISTERING RECORDS in early 2009.

The band has kept busy since their inception in 2004, having released two previous albums Nosferatu (2006) and Book Of The Dead (2007), and played numerous shows across Europe with the likes of HammerFall, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Evergrey and Pretty Maids.

In regards to the band name, the term ‘bloodbound’ originated during the dark ages referring to an oath between men wherein they would cut their own hands and clasp thereby mixing their blood. Each man then carries the other’s blood, linking the two, as blood brothers. A bloodbound can never be broken and will follow you into the afterlife and beyond.

For more information and updates on the band, please check the following websites:
