Well I just have to write about my rage against the music industry and the artists on this planet complaining about “illegal” filesharing. I have just read an annoying article on a Swedish news site where Swedish artist is agreeing on the new anti-piracy law here in Sweden. I won’t get into what they said, cause I didn’t read the article, I just had to read the list, the list with those artists.
Among them I saw Joey Tempest, and what? I’ll tell you my thoughts/ideas:
1. Fans did buy your albums, not nowadays. We have filesharing on the internet, we don’t have to buy your songs.
2. Albums are too expensive, comparing to filesharing. There are sites that even offer FLAC format so we will get what we want.
3. You guys just have to step up to the new technology, use it!
4. Services as Spotify is awesome! I use it everyday and it isn’t illegal.
5. If you fight against us you will throw our respect away and we will stop liking you. Fighting filesharers is like jumping off the stage telling a fan not to come to a show.
6. Use your time to travel and play live. We want to greet and meet you. Start releasing songs on the net, it made it possible for Radiohead to get even more money than releasing it with a record company.
If you have something to add, please comment!
