New items in the Sister Sin shop

Posted in Newz on February 24th, 2009 by Dr. Rock

I just found an email I got from Sister Sin (newsletter), I saved it because I couldn’t post anything from my phone, so I’ll write about it now. It is concerning some new awesome stuff in the shop from the Swedish hard rock act: Sister Sin.

So if you want to look sexy for school, friends and enemies, head on over to their shop at http://www.sistersin.com/shop/. I’m thinking off buying something myself, have to increase my collection of rock band tees, and that is soon, when the money comes in from work.

New poll up, and be honest…

We all know that The Pirate Bay is in trial with the entertainment business, and it would be interesting to see where our visitors stand in this question: “Do you download copyrighted material?”
Cast your vote and we’ll look at the result in the end of this week (sunday) or somewhere in the middle of next week.

LION’S SHARE: Signs Japanese deal with KING RECORDS

Posted in Newz on February 23rd, 2009 by Dr. Rock

Swedish melodic heavy metal masters LION’S SHARE have inked a Japanese licensing deal with KING RECORDS for the release of their sixth full-length album, “Dark Hours”.
LION’S SHARE will release its new album in Europe and North America on March 24 via Blistering Records. The follow-up to 2007′s “Emotional Coma” was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST, AMON AMARTH) and features guest appearances by SYMPHONY X guitarist Mike Romeo (guest solo on “Behind The Curtain”), and drummers Conny Pettersson (from Earache Records death metal act ANATA) and Richard Evensand (CHIMAIRA, SOILWORK).

“Dark Hours” track listing:

01. Judas Must Die
02. Phantom Rider
03. Demon In Your Mind
04. Heavy Cross To Bear
05. The Bottomless Pit
06. Full Metal Jacket
07. The Presidio 27
08. Barker Ranch
09. Napalm Nights
10. Space Scam
11. Behind The Curtain
12. King Of All The Kings (bonus track)

The band states: “The new songs are simply awesome and everybody that has heard it thinks it’s our best album to date. The red thread lyric-wise on this album is that all songs are about things that happened in the late Sixties; a decade known for many good things. However, we’re not describing the happy times of the Sixties: We give you the ‘Dark Hours’. Musically, it’s more straight-forward and faster than ever. The songs are filled with energy and great hooks.”

G2R – Fifth Gear

Posted in Videos on February 22nd, 2009 by Dr. Feelgood

Earlier on this Month, I posted info. about G2R (GNR Tribute band) appearing on Channel 5′s show “Fifth Gear”.
I only recently found the clip of the episode online, and its worth the watch if you’re bored into the spirit of constipation. Besides. What could POSSIBLY be better than watching 3 blokes n’ 2 birds, riding around in a puke-green, Pratt-Mobile?
But all sarcasm aside, it does make a good watch!

Posted in Newz, Videos on February 21st, 2009 by Dr. Rock

Justin Hawkins former singer of The Darkness, are now working on a new project called Hot Leg, a new rock n’ roll band with the music style that reminds a little of The Darkness, but much much better, in my personal opinion.
If you want to listen to their music, visit their myspace at http://www.myspace.com/hotleg

Also check out a video for their song “Cocktails” below:

Yesterday nite a blast, the Answer and AC/DC show

Posted in Chris Laney, Eventz, Newz, Reviewz on February 21st, 2009 by Dr. Rock

Well I attended the Globe yesterday nite with my brother and a couple of friends. The Answer and AC/DC played a full-seater and did it good. But I must prefer the Answer over AC/DC, if I need to be honest. I don’t know if I will write a review of this show, but I must say that they get some minus points for the guitar solo that Angus Young did, I think it was in the middle of the show, I didn’t feel that it was that good. Yes! he is a good guitarist, but just that solo didn’t get me into the “hell yeah” moment.
Otherwise the show was amazing, lots of screaming people (singing along in “Highway to Hell”, “Tnt” and all the other songs), huge digital screens and great sound setup. So all in all, the show was a blast and I recommend you to attend an AC/DC concert once in your life.
I might add more from the concert when I get my phone back, in which I had some notes, hard to remember everything when you have been drinking poison in the form of alcohol.

dr-rock-and-chris-laneyOn another note, I met Chris Laney and Zinny Zan after the show. I said hello and we discussed the solo project that Chris Laney have been working on, and he actually gave me a promo CD off the album, SWEEEEEEEEEET! I told him that there will be review of it and that I will send him some questions when I can get to it, life behind this site are hectic and time consuming!

Well, in the coming days, come back and see if I have published a review or an interview with Chris Laney.
