Anti-piracy is stupid. True or False?

I want you to answer the question to left, be honest, it is not so hard. My pick is stupid. I want you also to comment on this, tell me about your choice, why is it stupid or why it isn’t stupid.

I think it is stupid, cuz it is like going against your fans and it will ruin your reputation among the people. HADOPI is a law, where a governmental group will hunt down people that downloads copyrighted materials, and will disconnect them for a year after 2 strikes. We can call it a “3-strike-law”, and isn’t that just 100% stupid?

So pick an answer and comment on this post.

Yeah I'll have to agree that it (anti-piracy) can seem futile and at times, quite unfortunate, stupid. Especially here in Asia, where piracy is singlehandedly responsible for satisfying so many consumers' needs. Also, the big music labels (for metal and rock, ie Roadrunner, Century Media, Earache, SPV, Epic, Nuclear Blast, etc. etc.) don't distribute their products here very widely, so wehre else can your average fan get their music?

I can totally agree on that, the distribution costs are lowered greatly cuz of p2p networks, u do not need a single server/server farm and a great connection to pass out your art, in which for it may be, porn, music, movie, games and applications e.t.c

if every1 can adapt to this new way of distributing things on the net, the economy would be much better i guess.

Also the adaption of PayPal donations, if I like something, can i please donate 10 bucks to the creators instead of paying for it before I have even heard/seen it.
