Murderdolls to be awesome again
Posted in Newz on March 25th, 2010 by Dr. Rock
Check out this info from Wednesday 13s MySpace:
SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison has confirmed to U.K.’s Kerrang!magazine that he and Wednesday 13 will return this summer in their horror-punk side-project MURDERDOLLS.
Although the band went on hiatus in January 2004, Joey tells Kerrang!that he and Wednesday are currently working with producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD) on their new album, “Women And Children Last”, for a 2010 release.
Kerrang!: What started the ball rolling with regards to playing together again?
Jordison: “It’s been an ongoing conversation between Wednesday and I from 2006 until now. We were bored with everything out there, and thought we had something to piss people off and shake things up. Everything is such a product or a fucking formula these days… Fuck formula! Fuck the norm!”
Kerrang!: Apart from Wednesday 13, who else is in the band?
Jordison: “Much like the way [Norwegian black metal bands]DARKTHRONE or SATYRICON make records, Wednesday and I are doing the record ourselves with a couple of very special guests.”
Kerrang!: Do you have any plans to hit the U.K. soon?
Jordison: “Oh, we have plans! Just wait and see, U.K.! We love you guys and it will be well worth the wait! If you have a problem finding a band that rocks, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The M-Team!”
For the full interview, be sure to pick up a copy of this week’s Kerrang! magazine.
Formed in 2002, MURDERDOLLS released one album in the form of “Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls”, which came out via Roadrunner Records. The band had limited initial success in the United States, though its album and singles charted well in the United Kingdom and around the same time the group picked up a strong following in Japan.
MURDERDOLLS’ sound is made up of their shared influences, which include punk rock and 1970s hard rock acts such as KISS and ALICE COOPER. The band also shares an interest in horror movies, from which they take images and references.

Posted in Promotion on March 21st, 2010 by Dr. RockOk, so I guess I have turned into a little promoter for bands that I really like, or bands I think someone else would like. So I just got the news (From Mikkey in Baby Jane) that 3 bands have their new albums out on Spotify, so my duty is to show you these links to you all. See this as a little boost for the upcoming summer, and remember, if you have Spotify Premium you can bring your mobile phone (Android, iPhone, Sympian e.t.c) to the nearest beach and crank the volume up, you know, just to spread the awesomeness and greatness that these bands brings to the world.
So first of:
Reckless Love: A great new release from the band that lend their singer (Olli) too the Swedish Glam Metal band CRASHDÏET. Reckless Love is back, better and stronger then ever, spreading their joyful, groovy and hard hitting songs á la Party Rock with greatness and perfection. People that say that this band is bad, is so wrong, period!

Wig Wam: Ever heard that this glam rock band gathered up for a run in the Eurovision Song Contest? Well they did a good job, but Europe wasn’t (and will never be) satisfied with a rock band in the competition, so the first place went to some other country, but who cares right?
Eurovision gave them great promotion and exposure the European rock scene and they have been rockin’ out their songs with style, touring around Europe and showing what they have to give the musical world. You might say that Wig Wam is a silly name, but who cares anyways, as long as the songs are good, a band is good to go forever.

Treat: Another great band with their roots from the 80′s and early 90′s. The band is now back with a new album and have already been playing on Channel 4 here in Sweden and will also tour with H.E.A.T and The Poodles, and not to forget, playing live for the audience at a Europe concert as the opening act. With the new album, these old dudes (25 years of experience is something of an achievement) they have gotten new fans and the older fans back, banging their heads ones again for the sake of rock n’ roll.

By the way, these 3 bands are from Scandinavia, representing Sweden, Norway and Finland. And also, this genre of music have been revived, older bands with newer bands such as H.E.A.T, Dynazty, Crazy Lixx and CRASHDÏET are rockin’ the world together to unite the people that are craving new releases from the music that rocked the 80s. So feast away with these albums and hope you like my little post, any comments are welcomed.

Lizzy leaves Vains of Jenna
Posted in VOJ on March 20th, 2010 by Dr. RockIn a statement to management and the band – lead singer Lizzy DeVine has officially left the group.
“The last 5 years with this band has been the best years of my life. It’s with a tear in my eye, but a whole lot of love and respect for the band, manager, endorsers and fans all over the world, I announce that I’m no longer the lead singer/front man of VAINS OF JENNA. It’s been a crazy ride. And I’ve loved every second of it. But now I must move on and let the band grow. I’ve done more with this band than I could ever have dreamed of but now it’s time for new adventures! I love all of you.” Lizzy DeVine
VAINS of JENNA comprised of lead guitarist and main song writer Nicki Kin (Age 23), bassist JP White (26) and drummer Jacki Stone (23) embrace this change with the following statement. “We have always been a family and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. Today we support and respect Lizzy’s choice. We wish him all the best in the future and we part ways as friends. To our fans and friends everywhere, we are as shocked at this development as the rest of you. But we are real, committed to our music and will go forward. We have been honored by all of your support over the years and cannot express enough our regrets to bring this news. But this is reality and we accept the challenge.”
VAINS of JENNA formed in 2005 in Falkenberg Sweden. They have been featured internationally on TV and radio, appeared in hundreds of print articles and performed over 400 shows in a dozen countries. The band was originally signed by MTV star BAM MARGERA (Jackass/Viva La Bam) to Filthy Note/Universal in 2006. Soon followed major North America tours with Poison, Ratt & GWAR in 2007. They returned to Europe in 2008 and toured ITALY, ENGLAND & SWEDEN which included the Mega Festival SWEDEN ROCK. In the summer of 2009 the band was back in Los Angeles to release “The Art of Telling Lies” (RLS/RAW NOIZE) which received 5 star reviews around the globe. Since inception VAINS of JENNA have continuously drawn comparisons to legendary groups like Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses and Hanoi Rocks.
“We are seeking a young, hungry, aggressive, dedicated, fresh face and voice to front our band. Someone who is one of us. If you think you’re the guy for the job – then step to the plate now.” Nicki, JP & Jacki
