Posted in Newz, Videos on August 17th, 2010 by Dr. Rock

Miami-based rock band Atom Smash are premiering the video for “Do Her Wrong” on Revolvermag.com. The song is the first single off their forthcoming Jive Records debut album, Love Is In The Missile. Watch the video HERE.

Last month Atom Smash announced summer and fall tour dates in support Love Is The Missle. Atom Smash will rock fans across the country with stops that include Dallas, Houston and Little Rock and will join Filter, Buckcherry, Cavo, 12 Stones, RED, Shaman’s Harvest, and Black Sunshine on tour.

Atom Smash is comprised of Sergio Sanchez (lead vocals), Arnold Nese (bass), Mark Annino (drums) and guitarists Alex “Z” Zilinski’s and Luke “Cowboy” Rice. Formed in a fairly unconventional manner Atom Smashoriginated when frontman Sanchez discovered Zelinski, who lived in Austria at the time, via an online classified in 2006. The band’s lineup solidified in late 2008 when Nese and Annino joined the fold permanently and in the spring of 2010 the final piece was the addition of Rice.

Just want to say that this was the best show at this years festival, I have never laughed as hard as I did to their show. They were throwing jokes and ironic slogans all the time, so it was awesome and funny, hope too see them again sometimes.

Spotify goes Slash-tastic

Posted in Newz, Recommendations, Spotify, Videos on April 13th, 2010 by Dr. Rock

Spotify is getting some serious love from my heart, and a special place on my site, where I promote sweet/awesome/bad ass/good bands, and the newest addition I’ve found is the latest album from the previous guitarist of Guns n’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, and his name is Soul Hudson, or you might know him as “Slash”.

I haven’t got the time to listen to the album as much as I’d like to, so I can’t really give you a review of it, yet. I might do one, but you know, I rarely do reviews (or anything else for that matter (: ). You just have to listen to it yourself: Buy it, or Spotify it, its your choice.

Rudra Premiere Mother of All Music Videos (Warning: Epic Content)

Posted in Newz, Videos on January 10th, 2010 by Dr. Steel

Dr. Steel’s friends at Trinity Records HK are glad to announce:

Singapore’s originators of Vedic Metal, RUDRA, have already released the full version of their music video “Hymns from the Blazing Chariot”. It is taken from their best album to date “Brahmavidya I: Transcendental” which is released by TRINITY RECORDS HONG KONG (www.trinityrecords.com.hk) in Asia and America. If the teaser gave you high expectation about it, you won’t be disappointed as the director and the band have seen to it that the music video will clearly portray what the song is all about and they also make sure that it will be of the highest quality.

It’s like watching a well produced short film with a very good storyline and a very informative content about Vedic literature while still showcasing the band’s aggressive and technical nature.

You can watch the video in high definition here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVvDOTxEb_Q

Here’s some info about the video:

Rudra – Hymns from the Blazing Chariot

‘Hymns’ is a heavy metal re-imagination of the ancient Sanskrit text, The Bhagavad Gita.

Before the start of the Kurukshetra War, Prince Arjuna is reluctant to go into battle as he has to fight his relatives, beloved friends and revered teachers.

In desperation, Arjuna turns to his charioteer and mentor, Krishna for advice. Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and reveals the nature of the Self.

Anvil goes touring 2010, videos available

Posted in Newz, Videos on January 10th, 2010 by Dr. Rock

Ofter the success off their documentary, Anvil unleashes their metal too the North American citizens. Anvil have been trying to get fame since the beginning, when it all started back in the early 80s. Touring with other awesome bands, their fame was declined, by some mysterious force and they went into cult status and was almost forgotten.
The band, in particular Kudlow and Reiner, was the subject of the 2008 documentary film “Anvil: The Story of Anvil”, directed by the screenwriter and former Anvil roadie Sacha Gervasi. Upon its release, the film garnered critical acclaim from many major publications, and has since brought the band renewed recognition, including opening slots with AC/DC and Saxon. Appearances at major heavy metal festivals, including Download and Loud Park, also followed the release of the film.
