SRF: One week later

Posted in SRF'08 on June 16th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

Okey, I have to start with thanking you all for being here reading what I am writing. The thing I will write about this time: Sweden Rock Festival

I’ll kick this story of with the trip, after some school work being done and some waiting for friends being ready we are on the run. The run for the greatest rock festival of the year: Sweden Rock Festival 2008.
After about 40 Swedish miles we are there. We had the GPS monitor through the whole trip so we got happier for every kilometers we got closer.
Well there we were, standing with out bags and beers, eager to get some alcohol in our blood and to hear the sound of total distortion.

The first night is always the less comfortable for me, this is where I still have a full bottle of whiskey and just rushing it thought my throat to get drunk. My calculation said: “Ok don’t drink so fast”, but my rock n roll scenes told me: “Drink this bottle now, be a man!”. So I did, I won’t get into any details but I had to change my clothes and wash my hair the day after. Hehe.

Well the first festival day began with a warm beer and a cigarette. My friends was already up since I was the drunkest one the day before, which makes me the most hung over. Haha, funny stuff it is. It’s funny that we drink some poison to let us live life to the fullest and being happy.
Well the first band I saw was Airbourne and WOW how amazing they were. They reminded me of a heavier AC/DC, still very satisfying. The singer climbed upon the top of the stage and killed the guitar way up there, while afterwards climbing down and jumping of from the speakers, like 2-3 meters. Awesome show and awesome stage presence.

The hours went by and Satyricon went on. Great electrifying stage show and the whole theme of being evil, angry and famous gave me the shivers. I am not the biggest Satyricon fan but “Fuel for Hatred”, “King” and “Mother North” gave me a scary nightmares. I must salute them with a video:

Satyricon ends the night with a good night sleep.

At half past 1 Sebastian was supposed to play, but he canceled for some reasons that I can’t clarify. Being angry, I want back to the tent to throw down some more beer into my belly and to hang out with my camp-mates.
Eight o’clock Disturbed had their show but I wasn’t that interested in so I mingled around for some nice people

Judas Priest was one of the best acts I’ve seen, the show was bombastic and all-mighty. It gave me shivers down my spine again, but than in the middle of the show I had to get a beer, but suddenly “Painkiller” started:

My body started to jump around and I started screaming and singing along all through the song.
The night ended with some more beer and a good laugh with my friends.

I can’t write about everything, it will just be to much to read. As I said before, I can probably write a book about every year visiting this festival. The highlight of the “Def Leppard” day was, and will be for a while, when I met Jeff Scott Soto. After watching The Poodles I went to see Hanoi Rocks, they didn’t play as good as I wanted them to play so I sat down on the ground.
I looked around and saw someone with a small afro and cargo pants. Someone I’ve seen before on the internet. Who can it be? Well, that dude was Jeff Scott Soto, I walked up to him and said Hello and I started singing the chorus of “I’ll be Waiting”. If I remember right I think he gave me a smile and a pat on the back. I handed my camera phone to the closest girl and had her take a photo of me and him:

The day after I saw Ratt, and that was magnificent. The audience sang along through the whole show, and they played all their big hits. Before the show I met the singer of Sister, but he was on his way back to his tent, but I got a picture of him:

To sum up the festival I have to say that this was the best year ever. I’ve been there 2005, 2006 and 2007 but nothing beats 2008. Now I just have to wait a year for the next festival, I’ll probably buy the December ticket, for the reduced prize and the fact that I will get a ticket for sure.

If you have any photos or something to say about the festival, you are all welcome to comment and link everything you have from the festival. I might make a tribute post for the festival with the stuff you guys will send to me, if any.

The SRF report will have to wait…

Posted in Rock Hospital, SRF'08 on June 15th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

The SRF report is getting bigger everyday. I am remembering more stuff everyday and the things I want to write, must be in there. I might even write a whole book now I guess, hehe. Well, the report will hopefully be out tomorrow.
I also have to tell you that, without my brother the site wont be alive anymore. Because of economical reasons I couldn’t pay the host of the site, but my brother came and told me that he could pay it as long as I can pay him back
Salute my brother, and remember to read the SRF report tomorrow.

VolBeat: One of the “successers” from SRF’08

Posted in SRF'08, VolBeat on June 15th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

A very epic song, I see a great marching band when I hear this song, pity I wasn’t sober enought to enjoy their show. But now in after hand I must say that I love this band. Vote VolBeat for Danish president…

Sweden Rock Festival in just a moment…

Posted in SRF'08 on June 3rd, 2008 by Dr. Rock

Well as you may have seen, I am going to Sweden Rock Festival, as usual this year. I will be making some daily uploads on my photo diary where you can see what’s going on over there.
To see the latest photos just look on the calendar, there will be photos on 3rd to 8th of June/Juni, but until then, have a good time festival-ing and dreaming of the festival if you aren’t goin’. We should have one hell of fun time over there, that I can assure you.

Time to buy the tickets for Sweden Rock Festival

Posted in Other, SRF'08 on May 14th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

HEY!
Go buy the tickets for Sweden Rock Festival this year. I always get a mail a day from SRF management, tell me to buy the ticket, so I advice you all to do it. I already have one and I hope we can have a meet at the festival camp area.
The artist I am looking forward to is Poison, Ratt, Judas Priest, Sebastian Bach, The Poodles, Tesla and many many more.
And of course I am looking forward to all the people I can meet at the camp area, all the tents and all the camp parties, it crazy man. If you do not come, you will miss one of the best rock n roll events of the year.

I also like to tell you about the picture blog I will be opening for RockHospital.com on bilddagboken.se. The account is RockHospital and I will be reporting daily from the festival with some pictures from the event. Maybe meeting some celebreties and perhaps some of the random rockers I can find over there. Awesome right?

Newest video from Def Leppard: Nine Lives

Posted in Newz, SRF'08 on May 2nd, 2008 by Dr. Rock

Something new from Def Leppard, is it lovable? Well yes it is, Def Leppard can never hit that “lame” button and will never get to old for the new era of music.
They will attend Sweden Rock Festival this year, and I am looking forward to that, cuz they can play live and they play it good.

The running order for Sweden Rock Festival

Posted in SRF'08 on April 26th, 2008 by Dr. Rock

Nothing more to say than the topic, so run ahead to ‘The Running Order of SRF’08′

I noticed some crashes with the bands, so I guess it means that I have to run like a sheep running from a wolf, haha. Well see you all there, if you are going!

Accused for being a “raper”?

Posted in Gossip, SRF'08 on March 31st, 2008 by Dr. Rock

As I got a link from a former Rock Hospital author, I read that Rikki Rocket from Poison, the drummer, have been accused for raping another person in a casino in the state of Mississippi. If it’s true, he deserves a shot in the neck, but we have all been reading about people accusing people for everything nowadays, and especially celebrities with money so they can get something out of it.

And if it is true, the concert on Sweden Rock Festival will be canceled, and do we want that? good question, considering the situation he is in.

Any comments in this?
